This is one of my favourite dog parks in the area, although it is just at the far edge of what I can reasonably visit (without the use of a car or the TTC). The park is long and narrow, which can give the sense of a free, unimpeded walk along an actual path or walking trail. You can enter at one end (say the north end, as I tend to do) and exit at the south end. Depending on the weather, there’s a small gully of water (or mud) to cross along the way. As a mildly interesting bit of history, this was used as an unauthorized off leash area for some number of years before tensions due to this apparently resulted in its recognition as a formal off leash area (see: https://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2016/pe/bgrd/backgroundfile-98406.pdf)
This dog park is quite close to the very heavily-used Monarch Park off leash area. Although The Pocket is reasonably well-used, I’m sure a decent number of dogs end-up going to Monarch Park even if The Pocket is closer. It’s hard to compete with Monarch Park if you’re looking to get your dog exercised. However, if a leisurely stroll is more along the lines of what you want, then The Pocket is the right place, regardless of how close you are to Monarch.
I don’t think I’ve ever tried going here after a large snowfall. I would imagine it to be quite a slough to get through the park.

Summary Table for The Pocket Dog Park
| ground cover | grass |
| water | Not unless you count the gully that sometimes has a bit of rainfall in it, but is more often just mud (either dried or wet, depending on the past couple weeks of weather) |
| dog park association | Not that I know of. (Largely unrelated: The Pocket community association has one of the fancier community association webpages I’ve seen, but even they don’t have a page dedicated to this dog park). |
| size | large (but narrow) – listed at a surprising 10357 sq. metres |
| enclosure | open at the north and south ends, but fenced along the long east and west sides |
| url | ? Seems to be missing! |
